Canon Europe and the Dutch Eye Fund are joining forces to bring ‘World Unseen x Wij zijn Europa‘ to Dutch soil. This special photo exhibition opens its doors on October 10 in CODA Apeldoorn. That day is World Sight Day, an international day to draw attention to eye health.
“I am honored that my exhibition “Wij zijn Europa” has been selected for the wonderful World Unseen initiative. I am really looking forward to the reactions of blind and partially sighted people and hope that they have a special experience” says Lieve Blancquaert, Photographer and Canon Ambassador.
“With this exhibition we are building a bridge between blind, visually impaired and sighted people. We hope for more understanding for people with a visual impairment, but we also hope that sighted people will realize how valuable good eyesight is. This exhibition stimulates awareness in that area by offering lifelike experiences” says Meta Neeleman of the Dutch Eye Fund.
Lotte Luykx is visually impaired and she was one of the first in the Netherlands to experience World Unseen x Wij zijn Europa. World Unseen is an initiative by Canon Europe. The relief prints and braille texts were provided by CBB and printed on Canon Arizona printers with PRISMAelevate XL software.
World Unseen x Wij zijn Europa can be visited from October 10 to 20, 2024 in the central library of CODA Apeldoorn. For current opening hours and more information about the location, visit the CODA website.
