Touching hearts through elevated print
Once again, Kap Europa transformed into the global hub for innovation and inclusion as SightCity 2025, the world’s largest trade fair dedicated to aids and solutions for the blind and visually impaired, welcomed thousands of attendees from around the globe.
With over 150,000 blind and approximately 500,000 visually impaired people in Germany – and a staggering 2.2 billion individuals affected worldwide – SightCity serves a vital role in connecting technology, empathy, and progress. In this context, Canon proudly returned to Frankfurt, building on the success of the 2024 event and taking a bold step forward in accessibility-focused innovation.
At the heart of Canon’s participation was the World Unseen initiative, which received an expanded platform to raise awareness, foster inclusion, and showcase transformative technology. In partnership with two pioneering Arizona customers, Wollhofer Gravuren and CBB, Canon hosted a compact but impactful presence featuring an interactive booth and a powerful keynote and workshop on opening day.
Purpose-Driven Participation
Canon’s objectives for SightCity 2025 were clear and purpose-driven:
• Raise awareness for the World Unseen initiative and its powerful narrative.
• Explore the market’s needs and reactions to Canon’s tactile and accessible offerings.
• Foster new business opportunities—both directly and through our valued customers.
• Build partnerships and strengthen relationships within the accessibility community.
Collaboration in Action
The keynote, co-hosted by Canon Ambassador Ulla Lohmann and influencer Fabiana Kühl, offered a moving perspective on photography from the eyes, and hearts, of those who experience the world differently. The emotional centerpiece: a tactile representation of a drawing by Fabiana’s four-year-old daughter, allowing visually impaired parents to “see” their child’s art in a new, touching way.
Complementing the keynote, a curated exhibition on the first floor offered a guided tour of World Unseen tactile prints, further engaging attendees in sensory storytelling and demonstrating the real-world impact of Arizona and PRISMAelevate XL technologies.
Tangible Results and Strong Signals
Feedback from PSP partners was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting exceptional collaboration and outcomes “beyond expectations.” With such enthusiastic response, plans are already underway to return in 2026 with even greater impact.
Together, we’re changing how the world is seen—by everyone.
