How elevated print created new dimensions to special photo exhibition
In recent months, the Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht, the Netherlands, had a special exhibition by Dutch photographer and media personality Humberto Tan: ‘Tomorrow will be better’.
Elevated prints played a special role at the exhibition. Humberto Tan photographed more than a hundred people aged 100 years and older. During the subsequent conversations, he asked them four of the same questions of life about their happiness, fears, life lessons and dreams for the future. He also asked for a health tip. This was all captured in a beautiful 408-page coffee table book ‘Morgen gaat het beter‘ and an exhibition in the Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof.
Next to videos and audio tours for adults and children, the exhibition also showed several elevated prints of the hands. The prints were prepared with PRISMAelevate XL and printed on the Arizona series. It created an extra layer as visitors could not only see the photographs, but could also touch it and feel it. This gave a unique connection to the person behind the photograph.
