At PRINTING United 2025, we were proud to unveil the Colorado XL-series, our newest generation of large-format printer that extend UVgel performance into the 3.4m class. The new Colorado XL7R (roll-to-roll) and XL7H (hybrid) models build directly on the strengths that made the Colorado name synonymous with reliable productivity and consistent, high-impact colour.

Our next step in UVgel innovation

With the Colorado XL-series, we have expanded every element of the UVgel ecosystem:

  • UVgel 860 inks — formulated for both flexible and rigid media, offering instant-dry, low-odor output with vivid colour and gloss/matte control.
  • UVgel 850 PrintHeads — high-density 4,544-nozzle heads with automated nozzle monitoring to sustain image quality across long runs.
  • UVgel TRIdrive vacuum belt — a new triple-roller media transport system that delivers precision handling for thin films and rigid boards up to 52 mm thick.
  • UVgel Dynamic Motion Control – real-time monitoring and adjustment for precise drop placement and flawless quality at high speed.
  • UVgel FullBeam Curing — a wide LED curing array with reflective optics that ensures uniform curing and colour consistency over the full 3.4 m width.

This architecture, together with our modular design philosophy, means customers can start with a configuration that matches today’s workload and expand capabilities later — protecting their investment as business needs evolve.

What the industry said at PRINTING United

We were delighted by the reception the Colorado XL-series received on the show floor.
Across three days of demonstrations, visitors repeatedly commented on the speed, application range, and ease of operation. Trade publications such as Print Monthly and Wide-Format Impressions highlighted the Colorado XL-series as “one of the major product debuts of the expo,” noting how it “bridges high productivity with hybrid flexibility.”

Independent journalists also pointed to the broader market context, reminding print providers to consider total cost of ownership and local service coverage — points we fully support. Our rollout plan (select countries in Q1 2026, wider availability later in the year) ensures that each installation is backed by trained Canon technicians and regional supply chains.

Building on our proven portfolio

The Colorado M-series continues to serve customers requiring 1.6 m productivity with white ink, FLXfinish+ and FLXture texture effects. The new Colorado XL-series extends these same UVgel advantages to very-wide-format output, enabling applications from soft signage and retail décor to rigid POS and exhibition graphics — all from a single platform.

Alongside the Colorado XL-series debut, we showcased the latest Arizona flatbeds, which remain the benchmark for ultra-high-quality rigid printing. Together, the Arizona, Colorado M-series, and Colorado XL-series families form a cohesive suite that allows our customers to choose the right tool for every application while maintaining colour consistency and workflow continuity across all systems.

Our vision

We designed the Colorado XL-series for print service providers who want to expand capacity without adding complexity. By combining the productivity of industrial systems with the operational simplicity of UVgel, we empower our customers to take on new markets — confidently and profitably.

The positive feedback from PRINTING United visitors and the wider industry reinforces our commitment to continuous innovation. As one show reporter wrote, the Colorado XL-series “signals Canon’s determination to lead the next phase of hybrid wide-format production.”

We thank everyone who visited our booth, shared their insights, and helped make this launch a success. We look forward to delivering the first XL systems to customers early in 2026 — and to seeing what they create with the power of UVgel.
