Canon introduces a simpler approach to 3D image generation
Canon recently announced, ‘Dual Pixel 3D’, a simple 3D image generation technology that takes advantage of Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology. The new solution simplifies the creation of 3D images and 3D models and generates depth-rich content from an image without the need for dedicated 3D scanning equipment.
Dual Pixel RAW files and supported Canon EOS R8 Mark II JPEGs contain depth information captured by the supported photo cameras. This additional image capturing technology helps designers and print providers to create more realistic height maps for applications produced with Arizona flatbed printers and PRISMAelevate XL.
This new imaging technology underlines Canon’s commitment to continuously develop new R&D innovations that push the boundaries and unlock new creative possibilities to bring images to life.
