FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, marked a strong showing for Canon EMEA and Canon Production Printing. The event demonstrated the strength of the portfolio, the depth of innovation, and the trust placed in Canon by customers and partners worldwide. It also highlighted the impact of close collaboration across the print ecosystem.

Strong global attendance
FESPA 2026 attracted more than 14,000 unique visitors from over 120 countries and featured more than 550 exhibitors and brands, confirming its position as Europe’s leading industry event. Compared to FESPA 2025 in Berlin, Germany, visitor numbers remained at a similarly high level while maintaining a strong international reach. This continued momentum reinforces FESPA’s role as a key global platform for innovation, networking, and business development in large-format graphics and packaging.

A stand that stood out
Canon’s booth was recognized as one of the most dynamic and well-attended at the show, drawing strong interest from across the industry. Built around the theme “Move your World,” the stand combined live demonstrations, real-life applications and immersive experiences.

Visitors explored a complete large-format ecosystem, including the first public live viewing of the Colorado XL-series in Europe, alongside the Colorado M-series, imagePROGRAF portfolio, and PRISMA XL workflow solutions. The presence of Gold Finishing Ambassadors Fotoba and Neolt, as well as Gold Software Ambassadors ONYX and OneVision, further emphasized the importance of integration across the value chain.

High-value applications produced on the Arizona flatbed printer series with elevation technology showcased tactile effects and premium print finishes that brought designs to life. Live demonstrations of the new Colorado XL7 hybrid printer, printing on both rigid and flexible media, were a key highlight, reinforcing Canon’s positioning in productivity, versatility and application range.

Award-winning innovation
Canon’s innovation leadership was recognized with two EDP Awards 2026. The varioPRESS iV7 sheetfed inkjet press and the Colorado XL7 hybrid printer were both honored in their respective categories, underlining the strength of the latest platform developments across commercial print and large-format graphics.

Driving the future of corrugated packaging
Canon’s presence at FESPA 2026 was further strengthened by its corrugated packaging concept, centered around the corrPRESS iB17. Presented in Hall 3 through a digital experience and supported by a wide range of high-quality corrugated packaging and display applications, the concept illustrated Canon’s ambitions in industrial packaging print.

The corrPRESS iB17 combines 1200 dpi print quality with industrial productivity and flexible, sustainable production using water-based inks. This allows converters to address both short-run and high-volume demands. As a key element of Canon’s packaging strategy, the corrugated proposition complements the large-format graphics portfolio and demonstrates the ability to serve a broad range of visual communication and packaging applications.

First Colorado XL7 customer installation
A key milestone following FESPA 2026 is the first commercial installation of the Colorado XL7 hybrid printer in Europe, at POPART Print in Madrid, Spain. This marks an important step in bringing the next generation of UVgel hybrid technology into live production environments.

The installation highlights the growing market adoption of Canon’s hybrid platform and its impact on production capabilities. POPART Print has also shared further details on this milestone in its full announcement, with additional context available in a related post.

Organizational collaboration
Behind the success of Canon at FESPA 2026 is a strong cross-functional effort, spanning research and development, manufacturing, strategic marketing, marketing communications, sales, application support, service, and partner collaboration, including Sales Partner Ribera Digital.

The energy on the stand, the quality of discussions, and the overall execution reflected a high level of coordination and professionalism across the organization.

Looking ahead: FESPA 2027
