Mezographic recently invested in several new machines, including three new roll-to-roll printers – two Canon Colorado M-Series M5W presses and an Epson SureColor S80660L – in addition to a seventh cutting table – a Zünd 2xl – resulting in “solid growth” for the company.

“These additions were made not only to increase capacity, but also to improve speed, consistency, and overall quality. In an industry where turnaround times continue to shrink and expectations continue to rise, maintaining modern, capable equipment is essential to remaining relevant,” Mezographic director Frank Mezo told Sprinter.

The Canon Colorado M-Series M5W presses are 1.6m roll-to-roll printers that aim to offer productivity and quality, with a spectacular application range. Now including hassle-free white that is up to three times faster, the machines are also designed for the lowest total cost of ownership with low ink and energy use and low media waste. They also print at speeds of up to 159 m2/hr, with the M5W including white ink.

The Epson SureColor S80660L is a 64-inch wide-format printer that aims to offer superior quality, exceptional durability, and format flexibility. Incorporating Epson’s latest PrecisionCore print heads, the heads employ Variable Sized Dot Technology (VSDT) to enable smooth colour gradation with optimum ink application. While competing head technologies use heat to form droplets, Epson employs a patented MicroPeizo operation that is more precise and kinder on the ink, enabling superior colour accuracy and consistency.

As for the Zünd 2xl, it is a digital CNC cutter that has a modular design concept, resulting in a tailor-made cutting solution configured to meet specific production needs. They also are intelligent, efficient, and ready for the future.

“The need to continually upgrade machinery in pursuit of greater speed and quality remains an ever-moving target for us at Mezographic. Technology advances quickly and staying competitive requires ongoing evaluation and reinvestment. While this presents challenges, it also creates opportunities for businesses that are willing to adapt and evolve,” Mezo said.

Alongside hardware investment, a recent major focus for Mezographic was also the development of its new MIS system, which incorporates automated preflight functionality.

“We have already begun offering a client portal to select customers, allowing them to place repeat orders through a shopping-cart-style interface and track the progress of their jobs in real-time. This functionality will soon be rolled out more broadly via our website. Ultimately, the goal is to simplify the customer experience while improving internal efficiency and accuracy,” Mezo added.
