IGI Technical Conference 2024

It’s in the box!

From October 14 to 16, Canon Production Printing hosted IGI (The Global Wallcoverings Association) for their biannual technical conference. As a member of IGI for the past four years, Canon Production Printing was able to apply and was selected.

The Canon Colorado UVgel printer has been very successful in this expert segment which is one of the fastest growing in the Large Format Graphics market. And many current Colorado and UVgel Wallpaper Factory users were actually among the participants.

A total of nearly 100 people registered to attend the technical conference and enjoy the program we had put together for them.

All association members and participants were welcomed on the evening of Monday, October 14, for an aperitif at the Van Bommel van Dam museum in Venlo, where they were also able to visit the impressive exhibition by Venlo-born artist Evert Thielen. Be sure to go see it if you have the chance.

On Tuesday, October 15, participants were welcomed at 8:30 a.m. at Canon Production Printing headquarters for a morning of conferences. The community attended insightful sessions about digital printing innovations, sustainability and industry trends. This sparked meaningful discussions and opened up new avenues for the future of wallcoverings. A photowall was available for group or portrait photos, which they could then use on their LinkedIn profile.

In the afternoon, they had the chance to visit the production site of Leolux, a Dutch furniture manufacturer based in Venlo. It’s only a small step from furniture to wallpaper.

Following this visit, another tour was organized at our Customer Experience Center, where participants were given an overview of our large-format digital printing solutions. Followed by a tabletop session were members could showcase their own products.

In the evening, a dinner was organized at the Van der Valk Hotel in Venlo, on the top floor with a breathtaking view of Canon Production Printing’s headquarters. During the evening, the presidency of IGI was officially handed over from Pascal Siellet (who has headed IGI for the past 8 years) to James Watson who had his family present to witness this special moment as also James’s grandfather was president in the past.

On Wednesday, October 16, after a final morning of conferences, participants who wished to do so were able to visit our production sites for our Colorado printheads and UVgel inks, with almost 75 guest participating this was successful.
