Fresh Artists is making a powerful impact with its latest initiative to bring art into unexpected places. The organization’s newest project involves vinyl-wrapping Community Refrigerators with vibrant children’s art that promotes healthy food choices.
The Fridge at the Ambler Mennonite Church, located in Ambler, a small town near Philadelphia, USA, was professionally wrapped by Fresh Artists Founders Roger and Barbara Allen, alongside Fresh Artists Board member and graphics installer Ken Burns, president of Capital INK and Printing United Alliance’s PDAA.
This real refrigerator was wrapped in vinyl printed with children’s Chip Art portraits of healthy food choices, using the precision of the Canon Colorado printer. The project used removable Mactac GV729 vinyl – this High Performance White Gloss PVC film, 2.0-mil in thickness, is highly conformable and coated with a permanent acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive, making it easy to apply and remove without damage.
The fridge is now fully installed, plugged in, and already receiving donations of healthy food from the community. This project is part of Fresh Artists’ mission to save art education in severely underfunded public schools by bringing children’s art to highly visible and impactful spaces.
We are proud to support this initiative and look forward to seeing how art continues to inspire and make a difference!
