Print21 Expo in Novi Sad, Serbia, was held on the 21st and 22nd of February of this year. In the premises of the Novi Sad Fair, the Canon Colorado M5 with a width of 1.6m was presented to the public by our esteemed partner Igepa Cartacell.
Last year at the Fespa fair in Munich, Canon premiered the new modular roll-to-roll printers of the Colorado M series with the option of white UVgel. It is a completely modular model that the customer configures according to their needs and later upgrades.
The Colorado M-series premiered in the Serbian region at the recently concluded Print21 fair in Novi Sad. The Canon Colorado M5 with a width of 1.6m was presented by the company Igepa Group. According to Mr. Uroš Cvetić from Igepa Group, it’s thanks to its modular configuration and the use of white color that the Colorado M-series offers a wide range of creative indoor and outdoor applications.
What makes the M-series definitely special and revolutionary is the possibility of printing gloss and matte in the same pass. This makes it ideal for creating spectacular prints. Namely, thanks to the patented FLXfinish+ technology, which is an up gradable option, users have the option of adding a glossy, matte or combined finish on the same medium. Without the addition of varnish.
In addition, PRISMAGuide XL, the preparation software, which results in easy production with consistently high quality, supports simple preparation of multi-layer printing, by placing white under or over other colors, in 3 or 5 layers.
As for the print speed, it depends on whether the finish is gloss, matte or combined. In the gloss mode, the speed range is from 20 to 159 m²/h, while in the matte version it is from 10 to 46 m²/h.
What was also emphasized by Mr. Cvetić are the GREENGUARD GOLD certified UVgel inks, which is why applications are are safe for any indoor usage. Furthermore, with UVgel technology, users can print on environmentally responsible materials such as PVC-free media and paper media, even uncoated. This means that the Colorado M series of printers is a perfect fit for a sustainability-conscious organization.
